Set the U-V coordinates.

1. Go to a corner of your sample. I suggest to use the lower left.

2. Align the beam with the corner (the crosshair mode might be good for this)

3. Go to the ADJUST UVW panel, ORIGIN CORRECTION tab:

Image:Origin.jpg

4. Check that after the Adjust UVW there is the text global (and the button in the lower left corner says local). If not, click the button in the lower left corner

5. Now, click Adjust. You should see the U and V coordinates in the coordinate panel change to 0. This is now the origin in the UV coordinate system

6. Next, we have to define the positive U-axis

7. Go to the ANGLE CORRECTION tab:

8. Click upper read button, while you are still at the origin

9. Then move the beam along the sample edge, which you wish to define as the U-axis. (I suggest to move to the right) After moving a few mm, click on the second read button

10. Then click adjust

11. You should see the coordinates change so that you are now in a point U = x mm, V = 0 mm. This is now the positive U-axis of your UV coordinate system.
